Dead Squirrel

I don’t have much to share with you today, but whatever. I started a new session of swim lessons this morning… And my kids suck. The kids themselves are good, but they aren’t the best swimmers, I guess that’s why they’re in swim lessons. I’m starting to think I’m a tough teacher. My aunt filled in for me last week and she passed all of my kids… I would have passed three… Out of six. I’m confident that they could become great swimmers if I had more time with them, that’s my biggest frustration.

In other news, I almost blinded myself today. I was making some weird chicken roll-up thing (Garden spinach herb tortillas, chicken breast, Romano cheese and Caesar dressing) and at some point I rubbed my eye forcing Caesar dressing into it. I kid you not it’s the most painful thing in the world, worse than soap! I don’t know what’s in that stuff, but there should be a warning label on it, “avoid eye contact.” I should sue.

Also today, I found a dead squirrel in the yard. My dog will not go outside unless I go with him, I think he thinks I’m going to trick him, close the door in his face, run away and never come back. Pretty sure if I were going to run away I would have done it years ago. Moving on…

When we went outside I noticed a randomly colored object laying in the overgrown grass, turns out it was a dead squirrel. Immediately I went in the house and yelled at Lucifur. I’m not sure if Lucifur killed it, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Then I gave it a gentle nudge with my foot, “are you alive buddy?” No response. The rigormortis should have been enough to determine that he was dead, but I wanted to make sure. I put on some gloves, so I didn’t get an STD, carried it by its tail to the garbage can and tossed it in.

I’m not sure if that’s the proper burial for a squirrel? I knew I couldn’t flush him so I did the best I could.

Now I’m working on my nephews quilt and dreaming about food, fucking Weight Watchers.

P.S.  Puppy and I went for a walk today, he had fun.
